Abstract

Ethics as a systematic reflection on values and morals is important – and has a lot to offer in response to the question of proper communications in a hospital context. However, there are clear ethical limits that draw attention to the fact that the decisive factor in the encounter from person to person lies not in doing but in being. This article explores the importance of these ethical limits for a “spirituality of communication“, one that makes use of biblical insights in crucial conversations, and in the art of conversation according to Carl Rogers.
